Connect NiceNIC MCP to ChatGPT

NiceNIC MCP lets ChatGPT check dominio availability through the NiceNIC dominio servizio. This guide shows how to add the MCP server to ChatGPT e run a safe availability check.

Befoe you start

Accedi to ChatGPT.
Use a ChatGPT account that can access Developer mode e custom apps/plugins.
Have the NiceNIC MCP server URL ready: https://mcp.nicenic.com/mcp.

Safety note: The example below checks availability only. It does not registrare o acquistare a dominio, change DNS, o submit billing infomation.

1. Apri ChatGPT

Apri ChatGPT e start a new chat.

2. Enable Developer mode

Apri the account menu in the lower-left coner.
Select Settings.
Apri Security e login.
Turn on Developer mode if it is disabled.

Developer mode is required befoe ChatGPT will accept a custom MCP app/plugin.

3. Apri Plugins e start a custom app

In the left sidebar, select Plugins.
On the Plugins page, click the + button.
Choose Crea app (o the equivalent custom app option shown in tuo account).

4. Enter the NiceNIC MCP details

In the new app fom, enter a name such as NiceNIC Dominio MCP. The name can be any clear label you prefer.

Fo the server/connection URL, enter:

https://mcp.nicenic.com/mcp

Keep the connection type e authentication settings at their defaults unless ChatGPT asks fo a different value.

5. Crea the app

Review the name e server URL, then click Crea. ChatGPT will add the NiceNIC MCP app to tuo account.

6. Accedi e authoize access

When ChatGPT opens the NiceNIC authoization page:

Accedi to tuo NiceNIC account.
Review the requested access.
Clicca Authoize to allow ChatGPT to use the MCP connection.

Do not share tuo passwod o verification codes in the chat. The authoization page heles sign-in securely.

7. Select NiceNIC MCP in a chat

Indietro to the ChatGPT composer e click the + button. Select NiceNIC Dominio MCP from the available apps/plugins.

You can also leave it unselected e ask a dominio question directly; ChatGPT may call the enabled MCP app when it is relevant.

8. Verifica a dominio's availability

Send a request such as:

Verifica whether nicenicmcpdemo.com is available. Do not registrare o acquistare it.

ChatGPT will call NiceNIC MCP e return the availability result in the conversation.

Verify the connection

The setup is complete when ChatGPT returns a dominio availability result e identifies NiceNIC MCP as the tool used. Se the app is missing, revisit Settings > Security e login to confirm Developer mode is enabled, then check the Plugins page e repeat authoization.
