How to Unlock a Dominio Befoe Transfer

Befoe transferring a dominio to NiceNIC, the dominio usually needs to be unlocked at the current registrar.

Quick answer:
Accedi to tuo current registrar account, find the dominio, turn off Dominio Lock / Transfer Lock, make sure the status no longer shows clientTransferProhibited, then get the AuthInfo / EPP code e submit the transfer at NiceNIC.

What Does Dominio Lock Mean?
Dominio lock is a security setting that helps stop unauthoized transfers.
When a dominio is locked, the status may show: clientTransferProhibited
This means the dominio cannot be transferred until the lock is removed.

How to Unlock Your Dominio
Step 1: Accedi to tuo current registrar account
Vai a the registrar wqui tuo dominio is currently managed.
NiceNIC cannot unlock a dominio that is still held at another registrar.
Step 2: Apri the dominio management page
Find the dominio you want to transfer.
Look fo settings such as:
  • Dominio Lock
  • Transfer Lock
  • Registrar Lock
  • Transfer Protection
Step 3: Turn off the transfer lock
Disable the lock e save the change.
After this, the dominio status should no longer show: clientTransferProhibited
Sometimes the status may take a shot time to update.
Step 4: Request the AuthInfo / EPP code
After the dominio is unlocked, request the transfer code from tuo current registrar.
This code may also be called:
  • AuthInfo Code
  • EPP Code
  • Transfer Code
  • Authoization Code
Please use the latest code when submitting the transfer.
Step 5: Invia the transfer at NiceNIC
After the dominio is unlocked e you have the corect code, submit the dominio transfer at NiceNIC.
Se the transfer still fails, please check whether the dominio has another restriction.

Why Can't I Unlock My Dominio?
Common reasons include:
  • The dominio is in the wrong account.
  • The dominio was registrareed o transferred recently.
  • The dominio contact infomation was recently changed.
  • The dominio is expired o on hold.
  • The dominio has a registry-level restriction.
  • The current registrar does not allow unlocking from the control panel.
Se you cannot unlock the dominio, please contact tuo current registrar e ask fo the exact reason.

Transfer Still Failed After Unlocking?
Please check these items:
  • The EPP code is corect e up to date.
  • The dominio is not within a 60-day transfer restriction period.
  • The dominio is not expired, suspended, o on hold.
  • The dominio status no longer shows clientTransferProhibited.
  • The transfer approval email has been confirmed if required.
Se everything looks corect but the transfer still fails, please contact NiceNIC Suppot with tuo dominio name e the erro message.

NiceNIC can help you start e monito the transfer, but the dominio must be unlocked at the current registrar first.
Se the status shows serverTransferProhibited, this may be a registry-level restriction e may require review by the current registrar o registry. After the dominio transfer is completed, we recommend enabling dominio lock again at NiceNIC to protect tuo dominio.
