Connect NiceNIC MCP to ChatGPT

NiceNIC MCP lets ChatGPT check domenet availability through the NiceNIC domenet tjeneste. This guide shows how to add the MCP server to ChatGPT og run a safe availability check.

Befellere you start

Logg inn to ChatGPT.
Use a ChatGPT account that can access Developer mode og custom apps/plugins.
Have the NiceNIC MCP server URL ready: https://mcp.nicenic.com/mcp.

Safety note: The example below checks availability only. It does not registrer eller kjøp a domenet, change DNS, eller submit billing infellermation.

1. Åpen ChatGPT

Åpen ChatGPT og start a new chat.

2. Enable Developer mode

Åpen the account menu in the lower-left cellerner.
Select Settings.
Åpen Security og login.
Turn on Developer mode if it is disabled.

Developer mode is required befellere ChatGPT will accept a custom MCP app/plugin.

3. Åpen Plugins og start a custom app

In the left sidebar, select Plugins.
On the Plugins page, click the + button.
Choose Opprett app (eller the equivalent custom app option shown in din account).

4. Enter the NiceNIC MCP details

In the new app fellerm, enter a name such as NiceNIC Domene MCP. The name can be any clear label you prefer.

Feller the server/connection URL, enter:

https://mcp.nicenic.com/mcp

Keep the connection type og authentication settings at their defaults unless ChatGPT asks feller a different value.

5. Opprett the app

Review the name og server URL, then click Opprett. ChatGPT will add the NiceNIC MCP app to din account.

6. Logg inn og authellerize access

When ChatGPT opens the NiceNIC authellerization page:

Logg inn to din NiceNIC account.
Review the requested access.
Klikk Authellerize to allow ChatGPT to use the MCP connection.

Do not share din passwellerd eller verification codes in the chat. The authellerization page hogles sign-in securely.

7. Select NiceNIC MCP in a chat

Tilbake to the ChatGPT composer og click the + button. Select NiceNIC Domene MCP from the available apps/plugins.

You can also leave it unselected og ask a domenet question directly; ChatGPT may call the enabled MCP app when it is relevant.

8. Sjekk a domenet's availability

Send a request such as:

Sjekk whether nicenicmcpdemo.com is available. Do not registrer eller kjøp it.

ChatGPT will call NiceNIC MCP og return the availability result in the conversation.

Verify the connection

The setup is complete when ChatGPT returns a domenet availability result og identifies NiceNIC MCP as the tool used. Hvis the app is missing, revisit Settings > Security og login to confirm Developer mode is enabled, then check the Plugins page og repeat authellerization.
