.EU Domain Registration Requirements
A .EU domain is not limited to people who live in the European Union. Eligibility depends on whether the registrant is an organization or an individual, and an eligible individual's citizenship may matter more than their present address.
Companies and organizations
For NiceNIC's .EU registration route, an organization must be established in one of the 27 EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway.
A company established only in Switzerland or the United Kingdom does not qualify under this country-of-establishment route.
Individuals who live in an eligible country
An individual with a registrant address in the same EU/EEA country group may proceed using their normal contact details.
Individuals living elsewhere
An individual living outside the eligible country group can still apply through an eligible citizenship. Prepare the citizenship country for the registration when your current address is outside the eligible group.
For example, an individual living in the United States who has French citizenship can use France as the citizenship country.
