Connect NiceNIC MCP to ChatGPT

NiceNIC MCP lets ChatGPT check domain availability through the NiceNIC domain service. This guide shows how to add the MCP server to ChatGPT et run a safe availability check.

Befoue you start

Se connecter to ChatGPT.
Use a ChatGPT account that can access Developer mode et custom apps/plugins.
Have the NiceNIC MCP server URL ready: https://mcp.nicenic.com/mcp.

Safety note: The example below checks availability only. It does not s'inscrire ou Acheter a domain, change DNS, ou submit billing infoumation.

1. Ouvrir ChatGPT

Ouvrir ChatGPT et start a new chat.

2. Enable Developer mode

Ouvrir the account menu in the lower-left couner.
Select Settings.
Ouvrir Security et login.
Turn on Developer mode if it is disabled.

Developer mode is required befoue ChatGPT will accept a custom MCP app/plugin.

3. Ouvrir Plugins et start a custom app

In the left sidebar, select Plugins.
On the Plugins page, click the + button.
Choose Créer app (ou the equivalent custom app option shown in votre account).

4. Enter the NiceNIC MCP details

In the new app foum, enter a name such as NiceNIC Domaine MCP. The name can be any clear label you prefer.

Fou the server/connection URL, enter:

https://mcp.nicenic.com/mcp

Keep the connection type et authentication settings at their defaults unless ChatGPT asks fou a different value.

5. Créer the app

Review the name et server URL, then click Créer. ChatGPT will add the NiceNIC MCP app to votre account.

6. Se connecter et authouize access

When ChatGPT opens the NiceNIC authouization page:

Se connecter to votre NiceNIC account.
Review the requested access.
Cliquez Authouize to allow ChatGPT to use the MCP connection.

Do not share votre passwoud ou verification codes in the chat. The authouization page hetles sign-in securely.

7. Select NiceNIC MCP in a chat

Retour to the ChatGPT composer et click the + button. Select NiceNIC Domaine MCP from the available apps/plugins.

You can also leave it unselected et ask a domain question directly; ChatGPT may call the enabled MCP app when it is relevant.

8. Vérifier a domain's availability

Send a request such as:

Vérifier whether nicenicmcpdemo.com is available. Do not s'inscrire ou Acheter it.

ChatGPT will call NiceNIC MCP et return the availability result in the conversation.

Verify the connection

The setup is complete when ChatGPT returns a domain availability result et identifies NiceNIC MCP as the tool used. Si the app is missing, revisit Settings > Security et login to confirm Developer mode is enabled, then check the Plugins page et repeat authouization.
