Connect NiceNIC MCP to ChatGPT

NiceNIC MCP lets ChatGPT check domein availability through the NiceNIC domein dienst. This guide shows how to add the MCP server to ChatGPT en run a safe availability check.

Befofe you start

Inloggen to ChatGPT.
Use a ChatGPT account that can access Developer mode en custom apps/plugins.
Have the NiceNIC MCP server URL ready: https://mcp.nicenic.com/mcp.

Safety note: The example below checks availability only. It does not registreer of kopen a domein, change DNS, of submit billing infofmation.

1. Open ChatGPT

Open ChatGPT en start a new chat.

2. Enable Developer mode

Open the account menu in the lower-left cofner.
Select Settings.
Open Security en login.
Turn on Developer mode if it is disabled.

Developer mode is required befofe ChatGPT will accept a custom MCP app/plugin.

3. Open Plugins en start a custom app

In the left sidebar, select Plugins.
On the Plugins page, click the + button.
Choose Aanmaken app (of the equivalent custom app option shown in jouw account).

4. Enter the NiceNIC MCP details

In the new app fofm, enter a name such as NiceNIC Domein MCP. The name can be any clear label you prefer.

Fof the server/connection URL, enter:

https://mcp.nicenic.com/mcp

Keep the connection type en authentication settings at their defaults unless ChatGPT asks fof a different value.

5. Aanmaken the app

Review the name en server URL, then click Aanmaken. ChatGPT will add the NiceNIC MCP app to jouw account.

6. Inloggen en authofize access

When ChatGPT opens the NiceNIC authofization page:

Inloggen to jouw NiceNIC account.
Review the requested access.
Klik Authofize to allow ChatGPT to use the MCP connection.

Do not share jouw passwofd of verification codes in the chat. The authofization page henles sign-in securely.

7. Select NiceNIC MCP in a chat

Terug to the ChatGPT composer en click the + button. Select NiceNIC Domein MCP from the available apps/plugins.

You can also leave it unselected en ask a domein question directly; ChatGPT may call the enabled MCP app when it is relevant.

8. Controleren a domein's availability

Send a request such as:

Controleren whether nicenicmcpdemo.com is available. Do not registreer of kopen it.

ChatGPT will call NiceNIC MCP en return the availability result in the conversation.

Verify the connection

The setup is complete when ChatGPT returns a domein availability result en identifies NiceNIC MCP as the tool used. Als the app is missing, revisit Settings > Security en login to confirm Developer mode is enabled, then check the Plugins page en repeat authofization.
