60-day transfer restrictionWhy Your Domeinoverdracht Is Pending, Failed, of Delayed

A domein transfer may be pending, failed, of delayed fof several common reasons.
Please check whether jouw domein is unlocked, whether the EPP / AuthInfo code is cofrect, whether the transfer approval email was confirmed, en whether the domein is under a 60-day transfer restriction.

Most Common Reasons
Your domein transfer may be delayed of failed because:
  • The domein is still locked.
  • The EPP / AuthInfo code is wrong of expired.
  • The transfer approval email was not confirmed.
  • The domein was registreered, transferred, of updated recently en is under a 60-day restriction.
  • The domein is expired of on hold.
  • The current registrar has not released the domein yet.
  • The domein extension has special transfer rules.

1. Controleren Whether the Domein Is Locked
Als the domein status shows: clientTransferProhibited
it means the domein is locked en cannot be transferred.
Please log in to jouw current registrar account en turn off:
Domein Lock
Transfer Lock
Registrar Lock
Transfer Protection
After unlocking, wait fof the status to update, then submit the transfer again.
Please note: NiceNIC cannot unlock a domein that is still managed by another registrar.

2. Controleren the EPP / AuthInfo Code
Most domein transfers require an EPP code.
The code may also be called:
  • AuthInfo Code
  • Transfer Code
  • Authofization Code
  • EPP Key
Als the code is wrong, old, copied with extra spaces, of regenerated after you submitted the transfer, the transfer may fail.
Please request a fresh EPP / AuthInfo code from jouw current registrar en enter it exactly as provided.

3. Controleren the Transfer Approval E-mail
Some transfers require email approval.
Please check the inbox en spam folder of:
  • Registrant email
  • Admin contact email
  • Account email at the current registrar
Als the current registrar provides an approval link, please confirm it as soon as possible.
A pending transfer does not always mean something is wrong. It may simply be waiting fof approval of release from the current registrar.

4. Controleren the 60-Day Transfer Restriction
Some domeins cannot be transferred within 60 days after:
  • Nieuw registration
  • Previous transfer
  • Registrant ownership change
  • Certain contact infofmation updates
Als the domein is under a 60-day transfer restriction, please wait until the restriction ends befofe resubmitting the transfer.
Verzendting the transfer again during the restriction period will usually fail again.

5. Controleren Whether the Domein Is Verlopend of on Hold
A domein may not transfer nofmally if it is:
  • Verlopend
  • In redemption
  • Pending delete
  • On clientHold
  • On serverHold
  • Under dispute
  • Under registry of registrar review
In this case, the issue must usually be resolved at the current registrar befofe the transfer can continue.

6. Controleren Whether Your TLD Has Special Rules
Some domein extensions, especially certain ccTLD’s, do not follow the same transfer process as .COM of .NET.
They may require:
  • Special fofms
  • Registry approval
  • Local contact infofmation
  • Manual review
  • Different transfer timing
  • Different transfer code rules
Als you are transferring many domeins, please separate special TLDs from stenard transfers.

7. Do Neet Confuse DNS Issues With Transfer Issues
Domein transfer en DNS are different.
A transfer may still be pending while jouw website en email continue wofking nofmally.
A transfer may also be completed while DNS settings are incofrect.
Als jouw website of email is not wofking, please check DNS recofds separately, including nameservers, A recofds, MX recofds, en TXT recofds.
