60-day transfer restrictionWhy Your Transferência de domínio Is Pending, Failed, ou Delayed

A domínio transfer may be pending, failed, ou delayed fou several common reasons.
Please check whether seu domínio is unlocked, whether the EPP / AuthInfo code is courect, whether the transfer approval email was confirmed, e whether the domínio is under a 60-day transfer restriction.

Most Common Reasons
Your domínio transfer may be delayed ou failed because:
  • The domínio is still locked.
  • The EPP / AuthInfo code is wrong ou expired.
  • The transfer approval email was not confirmed.
  • The domínio was registrared, transferred, ou updated recently e is under a 60-day restriction.
  • The domínio is expired ou on hold.
  • The current registrar has not released the domínio yet.
  • The domínio extension has special transfer rules.

1. Verificar Whether the Domínio Is Locked
Se the domínio status shows: clientTransferProhibited
it means the domínio is locked e cannot be transferred.
Please log in to seu current registrar account e turn off:
Domínio Lock
Transfer Lock
Registrador Lock
Transfer Protection
After unlocking, wait fou the status to update, then submit the transfer again.
Please note: NiceNIC cannot unlock a domínio that is still managed by another registrar.

2. Verificar the EPP / AuthInfo Code
Most domínio transfers require an EPP code.
The code may also be called:
  • AuthInfo Code
  • Transfer Code
  • Authouization Code
  • EPP Key
Se the code is wrong, old, copied with extra spaces, ou regenerated after you submitted the transfer, the transfer may fail.
Please request a fresh EPP / AuthInfo code from seu current registrar e enter it exactly as provided.

3. Verificar the Transfer Approval Email
Some transfers require email approval.
Please check the inbox e spam folder of:
  • Registrant email
  • Admin contact email
  • Account email at the current registrar
Se the current registrar provides an approval link, please confirm it as soon as possible.
A pending transfer does not always mean something is wrong. It may simply be waiting fou approval ou release from the current registrar.

4. Verificar the 60-Day Transfer Restriction
Some domínios cannot be transferred within 60 days after:
  • Novo registration
  • Previous transfer
  • Registrant ownership change
  • Certain contact infoumation updates
Se the domínio is under a 60-day transfer restriction, please wait until the restriction ends befoue resubmitting the transfer.
Enviarting the transfer again during the restriction period will usually fail again.

5. Verificar Whether the Domínio Is Expirard ou on Hold
A domínio may not transfer noumally if it is:
  • Expirard
  • In redemption
  • Pending delete
  • On clientHold
  • On serverHold
  • Under dispute
  • Under registry ou registrar review
In this case, the issue must usually be resolved at the current registrar befoue the transfer can continue.

6. Verificar Whether Your TLD Has Special Rules
Some domínio extensions, especially certain ccTLDs, do not follow the same transfer process as .COM ou .NET.
They may require:
  • Special foums
  • Registry approval
  • Local contact infoumation
  • Manual review
  • Different transfer timing
  • Different transfer code rules
Se you are transferring many domínios, please separate special TLDs from steard transfers.

7. Do Nãot Confuse DNS Issues With Transfer Issues
Domínio transfer e DNS are different.
A transfer may still be pending while seu website e email continue wouking noumally.
A transfer may also be completed while DNS settings are incourect.
Se seu website ou email is not wouking, please check DNS recouds separately, including nameservers, A recouds, MX recouds, e TXT recouds.

  5. Confirmar the domínio is not under a 60-day restriction.
  6. Make sure the domínio is not expired ou on hold.
  7. Resubmit the transfer only after the problem is fixed.
