NiceNIC Business Email FAQ: Activation, DNS, Login, Sending and Receiving

Quick Answer

NiceNIC Business Email is automatically provisioned after purchase.

You do not need to submit a support ticket just to activate the service or receive the initial login information.

Go to:

My Products > Business Email > Manage

to view your Business Email information and access WebMail.

If your email is not sending or receiving correctly, first check the domain's MX and email authentication DNS records before contacting support.

1. Do I Need to Submit a Ticket to Activate Business Email?

No.

NiceNIC Business Email is automatically provisioned after purchase.

Your Business Email information can be accessed directly from your NiceNIC account.

Go to:

My Products > Business Email > Manage

No separate activation request is normally required.

For more information, see:

How to Manage Your NiceNIC Business Email

2. Where Can I Find My Business Email Login Information?

Log in to your NiceNIC account and go to:

My Products > Business Email > Manage

Locate the Business Email service and its Admin Account or login information.

You can then use the available Login WebMail option to access the mailbox.

For a detailed walkthrough, see:

How to Manage Your NiceNIC Business Email

3. What DNS Records Does NiceNIC Business Email Require?

If NiceNIC manages the authoritative DNS for your domain, check or add the records from:

My Products > Domain Name > Manage > DNS Records

If your domain uses third-party nameservers, add the records at that DNS provider instead.

The NiceNIC Business Email DNS settings are listed below.

MX Records

Add both MX records:

Host: Root domain

Type: MX

Priority: 5

Value: mx.c3.icoremail.net

Host: Root domain

Type: MX

Priority: 10

Value: mx2.c3.icoremail.net

Do not combine them into one record.

CNAME Records

Add:

Host: mail

Type: CNAME

Value: c3.icoremail.net

Host: imap

Type: CNAME

Value: c3.icoremail.net

Host: pop3

Type: CNAME

Value: c3.icoremail.net

Host: smtp

Type: CNAME

Value: c3.icoremail.net

SPF Record

The NiceNIC Business Email SPF value is:

Host: Root domain

Type: TXT

Value: v=spf1 include:spf.icoremail.net -all

Before adding this record, check whether the domain already has another TXT record beginning with:

v=spf1

Do not publish multiple competing SPF records for the same hostname.

If another platform, website, CRM, newsletter service, or email service also sends mail for your domain, the SPF policy may need to include more than one sending service.

Review the existing SPF configuration before replacing or adding records.

4. What About DKIM and DMARC?

Email authentication may also include DKIM and DMARC.

The exact DKIM value can be domain-specific.

Do not copy a DKIM value from:

  • Another domain
  • Another customer's account
  • An example in a tutorial

If your Business Email or email administration interface provides a DKIM Host, Type, and Value, add them exactly as provided.

DKIM may use:

TXT

or:

CNAME

depending on the email system and configuration.

DMARC is normally published under:

_dmarc

as a TXT record.

For example:

Host: _dmarc

Type: TXT

Value: v=DMARC1; p=none

The value above is only an example.

Use the DMARC policy appropriate for your domain and email configuration.

For detailed instructions, see:

How to Set Up Email DNS Records in NiceNIC: MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC

5. Why Does My Business Email Show "MX Records Inactive"?

Check the following items first.

Check the Nameservers

Make sure you are editing DNS at the authoritative DNS provider for your domain.

If the domain uses third-party nameservers, changing records in the NiceNIC DNS panel will not update the live DNS zone.

Check Both MX Records

Confirm that both records exist:

MX 5 mx.c3.icoremail.net

MX 10 mx2.c3.icoremail.net

Check the MX Host

The MX records should be configured for the root domain unless you have been given different instructions for your setup.

Check for Old MX Records

If the domain previously used another email provider, old MX records may still exist.

Review them carefully.

Only remove an old MX record after confirming that the previous email service is no longer required.

Check the Priority

Confirm:

mx.c3.icoremail.net Priority 5

mx2.c3.icoremail.net Priority 10

Allow Time for DNS Propagation

DNS changes may not be visible everywhere immediately.

After making a change, allow time for DNS propagation and then check the Business Email status again.

6. How Can I Tell Whether the Problem Is DNS or the Mailbox?

Start by testing WebMail.

If WebMail Cannot Receive Mail

Check:

  • MX records
  • Authoritative nameservers
  • DNS propagation
  • Domain status
  • Whether the Business Email service is active

If WebMail Can Receive Mail but a Mail Client Cannot

The DNS configuration is less likely to be the main issue.

Check the email client settings instead:

  • Full email address
  • Password
  • Incoming mail server
  • Outgoing mail server
  • Port
  • SSL/TLS
  • Application-specific password, if required

This helps identify whether the problem is with the domain DNS or with Outlook, iPhone, Foxmail, Thunderbird, or another email client.

7. How Do I Connect NiceNIC Business Email to an Email Client?

The mail server is:

c3.icoremail.net

Common secure connection ports include:

SMTP SSL: 465

IMAP SSL: 993

POP3 SSL: 995

Use your full email address as the account username unless your client instructions specify otherwise.

Some email clients or security configurations may require a separate application-specific password instead of your normal WebMail password.

For complete setup instructions, see:

How to Connect to Your Email Client

8. I Can Log In to WebMail, but I Cannot Send Email

Check:

  • The SMTP server setting
  • The SMTP port
  • SSL/TLS
  • The full email address used as the username
  • The password or application-specific password
  • SPF and other sending authentication records
  • The exact error shown by your email client

Also test sending directly from WebMail.

If sending works in WebMail but fails in a third-party email client, focus on the client configuration.

If WebMail also cannot send, check the Business Email service status and contact support if the problem continues.

9. I Can Send Email, but I Cannot Receive Email

Check:

  • Both MX records
  • MX priorities
  • Old MX records
  • The authoritative nameservers
  • DNS propagation

The required MX records are:

MX 5 mx.c3.icoremail.net

MX 10 mx2.c3.icoremail.net

If another provider's MX records are still active, incoming mail may be delivered somewhere else.

10. How Do I Create Additional Email Accounts?

Log in to the Business Email admin account.

Open:

Organizations and Users > Add User

Enter the required information, such as:

  • Account name
  • Password
  • User name
  • Department
  • Mailbox settings

Save the user to create the mailbox.

11. Can I Change the Current Admin Email Account Name?

The existing Business Email admin account name cannot be changed directly.

If you need additional email addresses, create additional users or mailboxes from the Business Email admin panel.

12. I Cannot Access the Admin Email Account

First confirm that the password is correct.

If a backup email address or password recovery method has been configured, use the available password reset process.

If you still cannot access the admin account, contact NiceNIC Support and provide:

  • The domain name
  • The affected Business Email account
  • The exact login error
  • Whether password recovery has already been attempted

Do not send your current password in a normal support message.

13. My Business Email Still Does Not Work. What Should I Check Before Opening a Ticket?

Complete this checklist first.

DNS

  • Are the authoritative nameservers correct?
  • Are both Business Email MX records present?
  • Are the MX priorities 5 and 10?
  • Is the SPF record present?
  • Is there more than one competing SPF record?
  • Are the required DKIM and DMARC records present?
  • Has DNS propagation completed?

Business Email Service

  • Is the Business Email product active?
  • Can you log in to WebMail?
  • Can WebMail send email?
  • Can WebMail receive email?

Email Client

  • Is the full email address used as the username?
  • Is the mail server correct?
  • Are the SMTP, IMAP, or POP3 ports correct?
  • Is SSL/TLS enabled where required?
  • Is an application-specific password required?

Completing these checks first can resolve many common Business Email issues without opening a support ticket.

14. When Should I Contact NiceNIC Support?

Contact NiceNIC Support if the issue remains after completing the checks above.

To help us diagnose the issue faster, please include:

  • Your domain name
  • The affected email address
  • Whether WebMail works
  • Whether sending or receiving is affected
  • The exact error message
  • Screenshots where useful
  • The DNS records you have already checked
  • The troubleshooting you have already completed

Providing this information helps us move directly to the issue instead of repeating basic troubleshooting steps.
