How to Set Up Your Email with POP3 & IMAP
Use IMAP when mail must stay synchronized across devices. Use POP3 only when you intentionally want a client to download messages and you understand its server-retention settings.
Choose a Protocol
- IMAP: keeps mail on the server and synchronizes folders, read status and deletions.
- POP3: downloads inbox messages to the client; behavior across devices depends on whether the client leaves copies on the server.
Information You Need
- Full email address as the username
- Mailbox password
- Incoming and outgoing server names supplied by NiceNIC
- Required ports and encryption modes
- SMTP authentication setting

- Create a new mail account in the client.
- Enter the full email address and mailbox password.

If Setup Fails
- Test the mailbox in webmail first.

How do I know the change worked?
