Can You Register a Domain with Crypto?

NiceNIC accepts supported cryptocurrencies as a way to fund your account balance. After the deposit is credited, you can use that balance for eligible domain registrations, renewals, transfers and other supported orders. Paying in crypto does not change registry eligibility rules or guarantee that an available name will remain available until you register it.

How to register a domain using cryptocurrency

  1. Search the exact name on NiceNIC and review the TLD's eligibility rules, first-year price and renewal price.

  1. Sign in and go to the Add Funds / Payment Options section of your NiceNIC account.

  1. Choose a supported cryptocurrency payment route. NiceNIC lists Online Crypto Payment and, for eligible customers, Manual Crypto Payment; the available currencies and networks depend on the route.

  1. Review the asset, blockchain network, quoted amount, recipient/payment instructions and any provider fee shown for this particular payment. Do not reuse an address from an older deposit.
  2. Send the funds using the exact currency and network in those instructions. Save the transaction hash and payment reference.
  3. Wait until the payment is confirmed and your NiceNIC account balance has been credited. A blockchain confirmation alone is not proof that the account credit or domain order is complete.
  4. Return to the domain order, confirm its current availability and final cost, then pay for the registration using the credited account balance.
  5. Verify that NiceNIC and the registry have completed the registration. Check the domain in your account, its expiry date and any required contact-verification message.

Does NiceNIC charge 0% for crypto payments?

NiceNIC currently adds a 0% crypto processing fee. That does not mean the whole payment has zero cost.

Amounts and supported networks can change. Check the current NiceNIC Payment Options before depositing.

If you paid but cannot see the domain

First determine which step is incomplete:

  • Transaction sent, balance not credited: compare the exact network and payment instructions, then provide Support with the transaction hash, asset, network, amount and approximate time.
  • Balance credited, no domain order: place the authorized domain order separately; funding the account does not automatically register a name.
  • Order submitted, no registered domain: check whether the order is pending or rejected before placing a duplicate paid order.

Cryptocurrency transactions are generally irreversible. Never send private keys, wallet recovery phrases, NiceNIC passwords or one-time codes to Support. Refund rights, if any, depend on the product and transaction status; see Is a Refund Possible.
