ccTLDs Registration Requirements: Which ccTLDs Need Local Presence or Documents

Most ccTLD (country-code top-level domain) registrations do not require additional documentation and can be registered instantly, just like generic domains.
However, some ccTLDs have specific registration requirements, such as local presence, residency, business documentation, company registration, or legal entity status.

As per .DE Registry's policies, .DE domain registration or transfer requires contact information based on Germany.

Regarding .de domain's nameserver requirements:
Must use: 0-13 Authoritive nameservers. Each nameserver must be on a separate class-C network. That is, the first three octets cannot be the same. For example, 216.1.69.1 and 68.42.99.120 are valid.

Temporary or encrypted email addresses are not accepted. Examples include Guerrilla Mail, 10 Minute Mail, Temp Mail, Mailinator, EmailOnDeck, ProtonMail, Tutanota, Mailfence, Hushmail, and StartMail.

A citizen or business entity should provide valid contact information in the United States or it's territories.

.uk/ .co.uk
.uk / .co.uk domains must complete email verification within 7 days after registration. Otherwise, the domain will be placed on serverHold status.

.pt
a. Companies:
A copy of your Business Registration containing your Tax-ID or VAT ID Number.
b. Individuals:
A copy of your valid government-issued ID.
Passports are not accepted. Portuguese residents are required to provide their Tax ID (NIF).

.it
a. Companies:
VAT ID or Tax ID from company in the European Economic Area (EEA), the Vatican City State, the Republic of San Marino, the Swiss Confederation or the United Kingdom.

Documents are required along with Trustee Service:

IMPORTANT: The registry (SGNIC) emails the administrative contact and gives a grace period of 21 calendar days from the registration date to verify their identity and contact information. SGNIC's policy is to suspend the domain name if the administrative contact does not perform the verification within 21 calendar days.

b. Individuals:
provide your birth date. An application form will need to be signed to complete the registration. Identity verification is required for all registrations.

.ir
Due to U.S. OFAC restrictions, .ir is unavailable to register at this time. Once this restriction is lifted, registrations can commence.

.br
The registry has suspended .br domain registrations at this time.

.au
a. Organizations:
Provide your Australian trademark number (in Australian ATMOSS database) registered or in process, OR provide Australian company name, address, phone, and ACN, ABN, or ARBN number.
If an Australian trademark is used as the basis for meeting the Australian presence requirements, the domain name the registrants choose must be an exact match to the words which are the subject matter of the Australian trademark.
b. Individuals:
Provide your Australian government issued ID number (Driver's Licence, Passport, Birth Certificate), ID Issue Date and your date of birth.

.dk
For .DK domains, the registry Punktum dk may request additional verification, including:

Email confirmation
Government-issued ID for individual registrants
Proof of address if required
Business registration, VAT/tax ID, or company documents for organization registrants
Additional identity or contact verification requested by the registry

If the required verification is not completed within the deadline, the domain may remain inactive, be suspended, or be deleted by the registry.
Organization registrant email addresses may be publicly visible in the .DK WHOIS database.
Some .DK domain management actions may also require using the Punktum dk self-service panel or following registry instructions sent by email.

.se
a. Organizations:
Please provide one of the following documents based on the company's location:
For companies in Sweden: The Swedish Organization Number.
For EU companies outside of Sweden: The TAX ID or VAT ID
For companies outside the EU: The business or commercial registration number.
In all cases, you must include the city and country of registration.

b. Individuals:
Please provide one of the following forms of identification based on the individual's location:
For Swedish individuals: The Swedish Personal ID Number.
