.XXX Domain Registration Requirements

.XXX is a sponsored extension for eligible members of the adult-entertainment community and related providers. Confirm every requirement before placing the order; a successful payment does not guarantee registry approval.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Eligible registrants include adult-entertainment providers, their representatives and service providers.
  • The registration form accepts an ICM Registry Member ID as an extended attribute.
  • The Member ID may be added later, but the domain will not resolve without a valid ID when the registry requires it.
  • The registry sends membership instructions to the registrant email after the first .XXX registration.
  • One registry Member ID can be used for the registrant's eligible .XXX domains.
  • Brand-protection registrations may remain intentionally non-resolving.

Register the Domain

  1. Search for the domain at NiceNIC.
  2. Select the correct extension and registration term.
  3. Enter the registrant data and extended attributes exactly as required.
  4. Upload or submit any requested document.
  5. Review the order and complete payment.
  6. Monitor the order, email and tickets until the registry confirms activation.

Why an Order May Remain Pending

  • The registrant does not meet the extension's eligibility rule.
  • A name, address or identifier does not match the document.
  • A file is unclear, expired or incomplete.
  • The registry requests additional verification.

Before Renewal or Transfer

Check the extension-specific renewal deadline and transfer method. Do not assume that the process or grace period is the same as a generic domain such as .COM.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the registry request more information after payment?

Yes. Registry approval and verification may continue after the order is submitted.

What should I do if the order is pending?

Review the order status, email and NiceNIC tickets. Correct only the item requested and keep the submitted data consistent.
