NiceNIC Instructions

The.IS country code top-level domain (ccTLD) is an extension representing Iceland. Basically, everyone in the world can register a .IS domain. The period of registration is one year only. The domain can be renewed right after the registration for one year in one order but no more than 4 years in total. Please note that the period between.IS domain registration and expiration dates cannot exceed 5 years. Domain contact verification (registration) is required after the registration order is submitted so one can manage the domain properly further.

When a .IS domain is created, ISNIC (.IS Registry) sends the "ISNIC Contact Registration" email to the Registrant email address. You will need to follow the link to register (verify) the contact information (if it's new) for your .IS domain name within 3 days. Once your domain contact is verified, the domain becomes fully manageable. Please keep in mind that you won't be able to change the domain contact information until the domain is verified.
