.CN and .COM.CN Domain Registration Requirements
.CN and .COM.CN registrations require valid, verifiable registrant details. The documents needed depend on whether the registration is handled through an overseas registrar interface or a mainland China registrar interface.
Overseas registrar route
Both individuals and companies may register using the appropriate identification:
- Individual: identity-card number or passport number
- Company: company registration number or business licence number
Use the legal name and contact details corresponding to the chosen ID or company record.
Mainland China registrar route
Under the mainland China route described in NiceNIC's current support guide, registration is available to companies, with:
- A copy of the mainland China Business Licence
- Mainland China company and contact details, including an appropriate +86 telephone number
- The company's registered address and the requested domain's nameserver information
This mainland China registration channel is not currently available to individual applicants through the process described.
Before ordering
Determine which route applies to the registration. Then check domain availability and prepare the appropriate identification or company documents.
If the documents need to be reviewed, submit them using the NiceNIC support process rather than providing information that does not match the domain holder.
