Is a Refund Possible

Whether an order is refundable depends on the product, its fulfillment status and the applicable NiceNIC terms.
A domain registration, a renewal or a transfer that has already been successfully processed at a registry may not be reversible merely because it was ordered by mistake. Other products can have different conditions.

Check your order before requesting a refund

  1. Sign in to NiceNIC and open the relevant order or transaction history.

  1. Record the order ID, domain/product, charge amount, payment date and current fulfillment status.

  1. Compare the order with the refund and cancellation clauses applicable to that product.
  2. If the order has not been completed or appears duplicated, do not repeat payment. Contact NiceNIC Human Support with the transaction details and ask the team to review the state.

Situations that require different answers

Your situation
Next check
Domain registered successfully
Registry completion and applicable non-refundable fees
Order failed but payment was captured
Payment trace, account credit and settlement status
Renewal charged unexpectedly
Authorization, auto-renew settings and whether the registry renewal completed
SSL, email or server service
Product-specific cancellation and service-period terms
Transfer still pending
Do not equate pending status with failure; check whether a charge was made

Refundability is not decided solely by how recently you paid. Domain names can have registry-level costs and conditions beyond the registrar's ability to undo.

What to send NiceNIC Support

Provide the order ID, affected domain/product, date, payment method type and the outcome you are requesting. Do not submit a full card number, cryptocurrency seed phrase, login password or one-time code. Ask Support to confirm whether the payment will be returned to the original method, credited to account balance, or handled another way only if the relevant terms allow it.

Always consult the current NiceNIC legal and product terms before promising a result to your customer.

Examples: identical payment timing, different outcomes

Example A — failed registration, funds charged. An order for example.com shows a payment debit but the registry never created the name. The first investigation is the transaction outcome and account credit, not whether the customer dislikes the chosen name. Save the receipt, API/order code and timestamps. Ask for a payment reconciliation and any remedy allowed by the terms.

Example B — correctly registered but misspelled name. The registrar has already registered the exact domain submitted. Domain registry operations normally cannot be simply edited into a different spelling. Check whether the specific TLD/product has an allowed cancellation or refund mechanism; do not promise one.

Example C — SSL renewal or hosting cancellation. The service subscription, certificate issuance and server resources may have separate payment and fulfillment terms. Check the current product's actual contract, not the domain name refund policy.

Cryptocurrency and funding balances

Refund options for a cryptocurrency-funded NiceNIC balance can differ from a charge to a payment card, and a blockchain transfer is generally not reversible. Distinguish refund of an unsuccessful service order, return of unused account credit, and reversal of the original crypto transaction—they are not synonyms. Do not promise a return to the sending wallet or a fixed approval deadline unless the applicable policy explicitly provides for it.

If you are a reseller, do not promise an end customer a NiceNIC refund simply because your own retail contract allows one. Verify the registry order state and the governing provider/registry terms first.
