.FR Domain Registration Requirements
Before ordering a .FR domain, check the country associated with the registrant. NiceNIC supports registrations using contact details from 31 eligible European countries.
Accepted registrant countries
Any of the 27 European Union member states is eligible:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
These four countries are also accepted: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
The United Kingdom is not on the eligible-country list for new .FR registrations following Brexit.
What should you prepare?
Use a real individual or business as the registrant and provide accurate contact information from an eligible country. Check the registrant's country before submitting the order, not after payment.
You can then search for an available .FR domain and register using the qualifying contact details.
