Updating Nameservers from the Domains List
Before You Begin
Changing nameservers means changing where your domain's DNS records are managed. Your domain registration will remain with NiceNIC.
Before making the change:
Once these checks are complete, you can update the nameservers in NiceNIC.
Step by step
1.Login into your account and on the domain name in "My Products"
2.Click on the domain name you would like to edit
3.Click Domain Services on the left
4.Enter your desired name servers and save

How to Check If Your Nameserver Change Worked
After saving your new nameservers, check the following:
1. Check Your Nameservers
Open DNSChecker.org, enter your domain, and select NS.
Compare the results with the nameservers assigned by your new DNS provider.
Some locations may still show the old nameservers temporarily because of DNS caching.
2. Check Your Website
Open both example.com and www.example.com, replacing these examples with your actual domain.
Make sure your website loads correctly. If you use important subdomains, check those too.
3. Check Your Email
If you use email with your domain, check that the MX records are present at your new DNS provider.
Send a test email from an external address to your domain email, then reply to confirm that receiving and sending both work.
Remember: Once the new nameservers are active, manage your DNS records at the new DNS provider, not the previous one.
What If Your Website or Email Stops Working?
Your website is not loading
Check the A, AAAA, and CNAME records at your new DNS provider. Make sure the required website records match the settings supplied by your hosting provider.
If records are missing, restore the correct values from your backup.
Your email is not working
First, check that the new DNS provider has the correct MX records.
If receiving works but sending fails, also check SPF, DKIM, and DMARC with your email provider.
You see a DNS error such as SERVFAIL
This may be caused by a DNSSEC configuration mismatch. Contact your DNS provider or NiceNIC Support before making further changes.
Important: Do not repeatedly switch nameservers while trying to fix the problem. Keep your previous DNS configuration available until the new setup is working correctly. Switching back may not restore service immediately because of DNS caching.
If the problem continues, submit a NiceNIC support ticket with your domain name, new nameservers, the exact error message, and any DNS check results.
