How to Find and Verify a Crypto Payment TXID When Buying a Domain (2026 Guide)
By the NiceNIC Content Team | Published: October 24, 2026

If you have sent cryptocurrency for a domain purchase or account deposit and the balance has not updated, support may ask for your TXID, also called a transaction hash. Providing an exchange’s internal withdrawal number instead can make the payment harder to locate.

To find your TXID, open the payment or withdrawal details in your wallet or exchange and copy the full transaction hash or signature, including any prefix. For an on-chain payment, use the explorer for the selected network to check the transaction result, recipient, asset, and amount. Then check the payment-provider status and your NiceNIC account balance separately.

A TXID identifies a transaction. It does not, by itself, prove successful payment, account credit, or domain registration.

Review the available funding methods on the NiceNIC Payment Options page. Once your balance is available, you can use NiceNIC Domain Search to check names and complete an eligible purchase.

What Is a TXID and Why Might Support Ask for It?

A Transaction ID, or TXID, identifies a blockchain transaction. Wallets may label it Transaction Hash, TxHash, Transaction ID, or Signature.

The identifier helps support locate a transaction and compare its details with your payment record. On Ethereum, for example, the transaction receipt separately reports whether execution succeeded or failed, as documented in the Ethereum JSON-RPC reference.

The distinction matters: a transaction can have a hash while still pending, or remain visible after failing.

For an on-chain payment, support may need to verify:

  • The blockchain network and asset used.
  • The destination address and the amount delivered to it.
  • The transaction's execution result and confirmation status.
  • The payment's connection to your invoice and NiceNIC account.

A TXID and an invoice number serve different purposes. Providing both helps connect the blockchain record with the correct customer payment.

First Check Whether Your Payment Was On-Chain

This guide’s explorer instructions apply to payments sent over a public blockchain, such as a Bitcoin transfer or a supported token transfer on Ethereum.

Other payment methods use different records. The Lightning Network processes individual payments off-chain, so a Lightning payment does not have a corresponding Bitcoin main-chain TXID that you can look up for that individual payment.

For Binance Pay, Lightning, or an exchange-internal transfer, retain the payment reference, receipt, and status supplied by the service. Ask the payment provider or NiceNIC support which record is needed if no public blockchain TXID is available.

Always follow the asset and network shown on your live payment instructions. A network appearing in this guide is not an instruction to send funds through that network for every invoice.

Step-by-Step: How to Locate Your TXID

1. From a Self-Custody Wallet

Wallet layouts differ, but the usual process is:

  1. Open the wallet and select the account, network, and asset used for the payment.
  2. Open Activity, History, or the relevant transaction list.
  3. Select the outgoing payment.
  4. Copy the complete Transaction Hash, TXID, or Signature, or open View on Block Explorer and copy the identifier there.

For MetaMask, the official How to Find a Transaction ID guide explains how to copy the identifier from token activity or the Activity tab.

Use the copy function instead of manually typing the hash. A shortened display such as “0x4a8f…9b2c” is not the complete identifier.

Signing and broadcasting are separate steps. A wallet’s signing confirmation alone does not establish that a transaction reached the network or succeeded.

2. From a Centralized Exchange

For an exchange withdrawal:

  1. Open your account's withdrawal or transaction history.
  2. Select the withdrawal matching the asset, network, amount, and payment time.
  3. Look for a blockchain TXID, transaction hash, or explorer link.
  4. Copy the complete value and keep the exchange's withdrawal reference as additional context.

Labels such as Processing, Sent, or Completed vary between platforms. Check whether the actual blockchain identifier is available rather than relying on the status label alone.

If no TXID or explorer link appears, ask the exchange whether the withdrawal has been broadcast and whether it can supply the transaction details. The registrar cannot complete a withdrawal that is still being handled by the sending exchange.

Choose the Correct Blockchain Explorer

Start with the explorer link provided in the transaction details of your trusted wallet or exchange. If you open an explorer separately, make sure it matches the network you actually used.

Common examples include:

  • Ethereum: Etherscan for ETH and token transfers on Ethereum.
  • TRON: TRONSCAN for transfers on the TRON network.
  • Bitcoin: Mempool.space for Bitcoin main-chain transactions.
  • BNB Smart Chain: BscScan for transfers on BNB Smart Chain.
  • Solana: Solscan for Solana transaction signatures.

Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain transaction hashes commonly appear with a "0x" prefix. Solana uses a transaction signature as its identifier, as explained in the Solana transaction structure documentation.

Copy the complete field as supplied. Do not add or remove characters to make it fit an expected length.

NiceNIC’s current payment page lists USDT, USDC, and PYUSD options on Solana. This does not mean that an invoice accepts native SOL. Use only the asset and network selected for that payment.

For other supported networks, use their corresponding explorer. An Ethereum-format address or hash does not mean the transaction took place on Ethereum mainnet.

How to Verify Your Payment on an Explorer

Check the Transaction Result and Confirmation Status

Check whether the transaction is pending, included in a block, or failed. Where the explorer shows an execution result, inspect that result as well as confirmations.

A confirmed transaction that failed execution is not a successful transfer. For a failed token transfer, network fees may still have been charged. If you withdrew from an exchange, ask that exchange how it will handle the failed withdrawal and your available balance.

There is no universal number of confirmations or fixed waiting time that guarantees NiceNIC account credit. Follow the payment provider’s requirements and check the account balance separately.

Check the Actual Recipient

Compare the receiving address with the address assigned to your invoice or approved deposit instructions.

For an ERC-20 token transfer, the transaction's top-level destination may be the token contract. Inspect the token-transfer details to identify the recipient and amount. The ERC-20 standard defines transfer events that record this information.

Bitcoin transactions can contain multiple outputs, as described in the Bitcoin transaction guide. Locate the output paying your invoice address instead of comparing the invoice with the transaction's total output value.

Check the Asset and Amount

Confirm the specific asset as well as the network. A token name or symbol alone is not sufficient verification. Where needed, compare its contract or mint address with the payment provider’s or issuer’s official information.

Check the amount actually delivered to the recipient. For example, if an invoice requires 50 USDT but an exchange deducts a 1 USDT withdrawal fee from the amount you entered, the recipient may receive only 49 USDT.

Review how your sending service handles fees before paying. For an existing short payment, follow NiceNIC's insufficient crypto payment guidance before sending more funds. Do not assume separate transfers will automatically be combined.

Keep the Payment Time and Explorer Link

Record the transaction time, including its timezone, and save the explorer link. If one transaction contains several transfers, identify the transfer that matches your invoice.

These details help support investigate without relying on a screenshot alone.

Common Checkout Mistakes: Which Reference Should You Send?

On-chain TXID or transaction signature: Use this to locate the blockchain transaction. It still needs to be checked against the payment details.

Exchange withdrawal ID: Keep it for inquiries with the sending exchange. It generally cannot be searched on a public blockchain explorer.

Gateway invoice or payment ID: Include it when contacting NiceNIC or the payment provider. It identifies the payment request and helps match it to the transaction.

Wallet address: This identifies an address rather than one payment. Include the TXID, amount, and time so support can distinguish the relevant transfer.

For an off-chain payment, provide the service’s payment record instead of trying to turn an internal reference into a blockchain TXID.

What If the TXID Is Missing or the Payment Has Not Credited?

No TXID Appears in the Sending App

Check that you selected the correct withdrawal and whether the payment was on-chain. If the sending service has not supplied a transaction identifier, contact that service for its broadcast or processing status.

The Explorer Says "Transaction Not Found"

Recheck the network and copy the full identifier again. You may be searching an internal withdrawal ID, using the wrong explorer, or viewing a transaction that has not yet become visible to that explorer.

Ask the sending wallet or exchange to clarify the broadcast status if the record remains unavailable. Do not send another payment solely because one explorer lookup failed.

The Transaction Succeeded, but Your Balance Has Not Updated

Review the payment-provider status and compare the asset, network, recipient, and delivered amount with your payment instructions.

Possible causes include an amount mismatch, a payment-record matching issue, additional processing or review, or an unsupported asset or network. Payments sent after an invoice’s displayed deadline also require checking against the provider’s handling rules.

Contact support with the transaction details. Support can investigate and explain the available next steps; crediting or recovery depends on the payment circumstances and the provider’s capabilities.

If you used NiceNIC’s manual crypto route, the first payment requires manual review. Follow the instructions for that route rather than assuming it behaves identically to online gateway checkout.

How Crypto Domain Payments and Fees Work at NiceNIC

NiceNIC account funding and domain-order completion are separate stages. After credit becomes available, check the relevant domain order and complete any remaining purchase steps.

As checked on October 24, 2026:

  • NiceNIC processing fee: 0% for online crypto payments.
  • Online provider service fee: Currently 1.5%.
  • Other costs: Wallet, network, or exchange withdrawal fees may apply.

Review the full amount and the payment instructions before confirming. The NiceNIC Payment Options page explains the available funding channels, while the Domain Price List shows domain registration, renewal, and transfer pricing.

For agencies and portfolio managers, the NiceNIC Reseller Program offers account and pricing options. The NiceNIC Domain API and WHMCS registrar module support automated domain operations using available account credit. Free API access is available to active Market and Reseller Accounts, with a sandbox for testing; account pricing depends on the applicable account level.

When and How to Contact NiceNIC Support With Your TXID

Contact support when a payment remains uncredited after the provider’s indicated processing period, payment details do not match, or the next step is unclear.

Use an official support ticket or contact NiceNIC. Include:

  • Your NiceNIC username or account email.
  • The payment or deposit invoice number, plus the domain order number if relevant.
  • The complete TXID or transaction signature as selectable text, when available.
  • The cryptocurrency and blockchain network, or the off-chain payment method.
  • The amount sent and the amount shown as delivered, if different.
  • The receiving address and payment date, time, and timezone.
  • The explorer link or the payment service's receipt reference.
  • A relevant screenshot if it helps explain the status or error.

Keep passwords, private keys, recovery phrases, and verification codes out of the message. Remove unrelated personal or account information from screenshots.

NiceNIC's accredited registrar entity is NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED, listed under IANA Registrar ID 3765. The NiceNIC Trust Center provides company verification information and official service channels.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where Do I Find My TXID After Paying for a Domain?

Open the outgoing transaction or withdrawal in the wallet or exchange you used. Copy the complete Transaction Hash, TXID, or Signature, including any prefix. If no identifier appears, check whether the payment was on-chain and ask the sending service for the appropriate record.

Is It Safe to Share My TXID With Support?

A TXID does not reveal your private key or recovery phrase. However, it can link your inquiry to public transaction details and wallet activity. Share payment records through official support channels and avoid posting account details or payment screenshots publicly.

Does a Confirmed TXID Mean My Domain Has Been Registered?

No. Blockchain confirmation, payment acceptance, account credit, and successful domain registration are different states. Check your NiceNIC balance and the domain order separately. A transaction hash alone does not reserve a domain or prove that registration completed.

Can NiceNIC Always Recover a Payment Sent on the Wrong Network?

Recovery or crediting cannot be assumed. It depends on the asset, network, destination, and payment provider’s capabilities. Contact support with the full details before sending additional funds or attempting another payment.

What Should I Provide for Binance Pay or Lightning?

Provide the payment reference or receipt supplied by the service, its status, the amount, and your NiceNIC invoice or account details. These methods do not necessarily provide an individual payment TXID searchable on a public blockchain explorer.

Ready to continue your purchase? Check domain availability at NiceNIC after verifying your available balance, then confirm that the intended order completes successfully.
