Predictable domain costs

Know registration, renewal and transfer economics before you quote your own customers.

Human resolution when exceptions happen

24/7 availability matters less than clear status, evidence, required action and a real escalation path.

Automation for scale

Bulk tools, API and WHMCS reduce manual work as portfolios and customer counts grow.

NiceNIC reseller operations

Reseller Operations Designed for Scale

For a reseller, small operational shortcuts compound across hundreds or thousands of domains. These NiceNIC workflows help reduce repetitive account, renewal, billing and compliance work across larger portfolios.

Account-to-account

Free Domain Push

Push eligible domains between NiceNIC accounts without running a normal inter-registrar transfer. Useful when domains need to move between customers, teams or account structures.

Balance control

Fund Transfers Across Accounts

NiceNIC lists fund transfers across accounts as a reseller account-management feature, giving teams more flexibility over where prepaid balance is used.

Renewal operations

Single- & Multi-Account Bulk Renewals

Process renewal work in batches instead of repeating the same action domain by domain — especially useful for agencies and portfolio operators.

Portfolio management

Bulk Search, Transfer, DNS & Nameserver Workflows

Use bulk search/registration, bulk transfer, renewal and common DNS/nameserver workflows when manual repetition becomes the real cost.

Account Balance & Transaction History by API

The result: fewer repetitive steps, clearer status and fewer surprises when a domain needs renewal, transfer, DNS work, billing review or compliance action.
Lower the switching risk

Already Have a Registrar? Add NiceNIC Before You Replace Anything.

A mature hosting company or agency usually already has an upstream registrar. You do not need to move an entire portfolio to evaluate a second provider.

API Coverage Beyond Registration and Renewal

NiceNIC API v2 covers the domain lifecycle plus DNS, child nameservers, pricing, account data and abuse/compliance visibility. Market Accounts can use the Domain API; reseller pricing and reseller account features remain tied to reseller levels.

Domain lifecycleAvailability, list domains, domain details, registration, renewal, transfer-in, nameservers, contacts and register/renew/transfer pricing.
DNS & child nameserversList, create, update and delete DNS records; create, list, update and delete child nameservers.
Account & billingRead account balance and transaction history for automated reconciliation workflows.
Abuse & complianceList domains with reports/restrictions and retrieve complaint, hold-lifecycle and action information for a specific domain.
WHMCS operationsAvailability, register, renew, transfer, domain info, nameservers, contacts, lock/unlock, EPP retrieval and supported release/deletion workflows; the current WHMCS docs also describe a test mode.
Authentication controlsAPI access supports API-secret authentication and IP whitelisting. Keep credentials server-side and separate from the account login password.
Customer relationship & registrar responsibilities

What Will Your Customer See — and Who Handles What?

Know where your customer relationship ends and registrar obligations begin. NiceNIC is the sponsoring registrar for domains registered under its accreditation, while the reseller ordinarily manages its own commercial customer relationship and first-line billing/account support.

What to know
Your storefront / checkout
Your business
With your own API or WHMCS flow, you can keep the customer-facing purchase journey inside the system you operate.
First-line billing & account support
Reseller
The reseller is ordinarily responsible for first-line billing and account support for its own end customers.
Registrar of record
NiceNIC
Where NiceNIC is the sponsoring registrar, the reseller must accurately identify NiceNIC when required and must not represent itself as ICANN-accredited unless it independently is.
Mandatory registrar / registry notices
Depends on requirement
Some mandatory notices may need to come directly from NiceNIC to the Registered Name Holder. These communications do not automatically transfer the reseller's commercial customer relationship to NiceNIC.
Renewal instructions & customer relationship
Reseller
The reseller manages its customer relationship and processes customer renewal instructions and funds in time, subject to mandatory notices and registry rules.
Registrar / registry escalation

NiceNIC handles registrar-side and registry-facing requirements; the reseller cooperates and relays required customer information where applicable.
Human resolution & evidence

24/7 Availability Is Only the Starting Point

When a transfer stalls, a registry asks for documents, a domain is held, DNS behaves unexpectedly or an API request fails, the useful answer is: what happened, what is the impact, what do I need to do, and who controls the next step?

1 · Review the evidence

NiceNIC's published playbook describes evidence review before registrar-side action on abuse or compliance cases.

2 · Make status understandable

Clear case handling distinguishes customer action, registrar action and registry action instead of reducing a complex issue to a generic reply.

3 · Escalate the exception

Complex transfer, registry, compliance and API cases need a defined route beyond ordinary first-line responses.

Who should evaluate NiceNIC?

Built for Businesses Managing Customers, Systems or Portfolios

Different reseller types care about different parts of the same upstream relationship.

Hosting & VPS Companies

Add NiceNIC as a second registrar route, connect through WHMCS/API, compare renewal cost and keep a human escalation path for exceptions.

Web Agencies

Keep domain, DNS and related website operations closer to the client workflow you already manage.

Domain Resellers & Bulk Buyers

Evaluate lifecycle cost, free push, account fund flexibility, bulk renewals, transfers and portfolio operations — not only first-year price.

SaaS & Developers

Use API access for domain, DNS, pricing, account and compliance workflows; move to reseller pricing when the commercial model requires it.

Reseller decision FAQ

Questions Businesses Ask Before Choosing a Domain Reseller Provider

Short, direct answers for pricing, account operations, API, WHMCS, customer ownership, bulk management and support.

What is a domain reseller?

A domain reseller sells or manages domain services for its own customers while using an upstream registrar or registrar platform for registry connectivity, provisioning and registrar-level responsibilities.

Who is the NiceNIC Reseller Program designed for?

Hosting companies, web agencies, domain resellers, bulk buyers, portfolio operators and other businesses that can benefit from reseller pricing and portfolio-management workflows.

Do I have to move all my domains to NiceNIC?

No. You can evaluate NiceNIC alongside your current registrar using selected TLDs, new registrations, transfers or specific workflows.

Can I use NiceNIC as a second registrar?

Yes. For many established hosting and reseller businesses, adding a second route is a lower-risk way to compare price, workflow and support before moving more volume.

Is the reseller prepayment a membership fee?

No. Basic, Super and VIP prepayments are usable NiceNIC account credit rather than a separate annual reseller membership fee.

What is the minimum reseller prepayment?

Published reseller levels start at $200 prepaid credit for Basic, $600 for Super and $1500 for VIP. Titan is invitation-only. See the pricing section above for current tier requirements.

Does reseller credit expire?

Reseller funds do not expire and can be used for registrations, renewals and transfers under NiceNIC reseller terms.

Can I transfer funds between NiceNIC accounts?

NiceNIC supports fund transfers across accounts as a reseller account-management feature. Account rules and eligibility may apply to a specific transfer.

Can I push a domain to another NiceNIC account for free?

NiceNIC provides free domain push between NiceNIC accounts for eligible domains. A domain push is an internal account move, not an inter-registrar transfer.

Can I renew domains in bulk across accounts?

NiceNIC supports single- and multi-account bulk renewals to reduce repetitive renewal work across larger customer or portfolio operations.

What bulk tools are available?

NiceNIC provides bulk search/registration, transfer, renewal and nameserver/DNS-related workflows. Use bulk operations when manual workload becomes part of the supplier cost.

How do I compare domain reseller profit margin?

Start with your customer selling price minus acquisition cost, then include renewal, transfer, payment, support and other operating costs. The calculator above provides a registration-only estimate.

Do registration, renewal and transfer prices differ?

They can. NiceNIC's API price endpoint can query register, renew, transfer or all price types, and the public Domain Prices page publishes account-level pricing.

Do I need a reseller account to use the NiceNIC Domain API?

Market Accounts can use the Domain API. A reseller upgrade is only needed if you want reseller pricing and reseller account features; API access itself does not require a reseller level.

Does API access automatically give me reseller pricing?

No. API access and reseller pricing are separate. Pricing follows the account level applicable to the user.

What domain operations does API v2 cover?

API v2 supports availability checks, domain listing, domain details, registration, renewal, transfer-in, nameserver updates, contact updates and domain pricing.

Can the API manage DNS records and child nameservers?

Yes. API v2 includes list, create, update and delete operations for DNS records, plus create, list, update and delete operations for child nameservers.

Can I check account balance and transactions through the API?

Yes. API v2 includes account balance and account transaction-history operations.

Can the API show abuse reports or hold status for reseller domains?

Yes. NiceNIC documents API operations that list domains with abuse reports/restrictions and retrieve a domain's complaint statistics, hold lifecycle, status and recommended next action.

Can I use NiceNIC with WHMCS?

Yes. NiceNIC provides a WHMCS registrar module covering availability, registration, renewal, transfer, domain information, nameserver and contact management, plus lock/unlock, EPP retrieval, release/deletion and a development test mode.

How is API authentication handled?

NiceNIC documents username/API-secret authentication through the Authorization header. The API FAQ also describes IP whitelisting. Keep API credentials separate from your normal account login password and out of client-side code.

Can I sell domains under my own brand?

With your own website, API implementation or WHMCS workflow, you can keep the customer-facing sales experience inside your business. NiceNIC remains the sponsoring registrar where registrar identification or mandatory communication is required.

Will my customers see NiceNIC?

They may where registrar identification, mandatory notices, registry rules, security, legal or compliance obligations require it. Necessary registrar communication does not automatically transfer the reseller's commercial customer relationship to NiceNIC.

Who supports my end customers?

The NiceNIC Reseller Agreement states that the reseller is ordinarily responsible for first-line billing and account support for its own end customers; NiceNIC supports registrar-side and account-level matters and may communicate directly where required.

What payment methods can resellers use?

Available payment methods include PayPal, cryptocurrency and international bank transfer. See the payment page for current availability, settlement timing and any method-specific conditions.

What happens if a transfer, registry, DNS, API or compliance issue needs manual review?

Use NiceNIC support for the account-specific case and review the Reseller Operations Playbook for the published evidence-review and escalation approach. The useful questions are: what happened, what is the impact, what information is needed and who controls the next step?

How many TLDs can NiceNIC supply?

NiceNIC supports more than 2,500 domain extensions. Availability, eligibility requirements and pricing vary by TLD.

How do I verify NiceNIC's registrar status?

Use NiceNIC's accreditation page and the official ICANN/IANA registrar directory. NiceNIC's IANA registrar ID is 3765.
