If you cannot complete the required Russian identity verification, you may no longer be able to register a new .RU or .SU domain or renew an existing one after the new rules take effect.
NiceNIC now provides Trustee Service for both .RU and .SU domain registration and renewal.

.RU & .SU Trustee Service — $259
$259 is the Trustee Service fee only. Domain registration or renewal fees are charged separately.
The Trustee Service fee is the same for all NiceNIC account levels.

Need Trustee Service?
If you want to register or renew a .RU or .SU domain with Trustee Service, please submit a support ticket through your NiceNIC account and contact our team before placing your order.
Our team will help you confirm the applicable registration or renewal process and fees.

Why This Matters for .RU and .SU Domain Holders
The new requirements take effect on September 1, 2026.
If you can complete the required identity verification, you can continue using the standard registration and renewal process.
If you cannot complete the required verification, however, your ability to register or renew .RU and .SU domains may be affected.
This is particularly important for:

• International businesses using .RU or .SU domains
• Overseas domain investors
• Hosting companies and domain resellers
• Existing .RU or .SU domain holders approaching renewal
• Customers planning new .RU or .SU registrations

Trustee Service availability varies among registrars. NiceNIC is providing this option so eligible customers have an additional solution for continuing to register and maintain .RU and .SU domains under the new requirements.

Already Have a .RU or .SU Domain?
If you have an existing .RU or .SU domain and may not be able to complete the required identity verification, do not wait until the domain is close to expiration.
Contact NiceNIC in advance so we can confirm the Trustee Service process for your upcoming renewal.

Planning to Register a New .RU or .SU Domain?
NiceNIC also supports new .RU and .SU domain registrations with Trustee Service.
If the new identity verification requirements would otherwise prevent you from registering the domain you need, contact our team before placing the order.
