How to Register a .AU Domain: Individual and Organization Requirements
To register a direct .AU domain at NiceNIC, first determine whether the registrant is an individual or an organization. Each has different identification requirements.
Individual registrations
Individuals need to provide an ID type and ID number. The accepted ID categories in NiceNIC's registration process are:
- Driver's Licence
- Passport
- Birth Certificate
Prepare the identification number corresponding to your selected document.
Organization registrations
An organization may register using an Australian company or business identifier, or an Australian trade mark.
Australian company or business
Provide the organization's name, an ABN, ACN or ARBN as the registration ID type, and its corresponding registration number.
Australian trade mark
Provide the trade mark status (Registered or Pending Application), Australian Trade Mark Number, and Trade Mark Name / Words.
When a trade mark is the basis for meeting the Australian presence requirement, the requested .AU name must exactly match the words in that trade mark.
